Kennedy's 10th Birthday Murder Mystery Party

Where do I even start? It was a hard age since it's kind of tween age. So we looked and searched and she finally decided that she wanted a Murder Mystery Party. It was so much fun, 22 kids came and it was a late night and they did it all in the dark. After a few tears shed, I think a couple were a little spooked...sorry. Cole and I decked out the house with police lines and crime scene things. Who would have thought all that CSI watching would come in handy? I made cake balls and the kids LOVED them. I did try one little bite and they were quite delicious if I do say so myself. Her invitation was adorable with the help of Shelece..Thanks a lot. They all got a notepad and a flashlight to take home, and lots of fun memories. Riley ended up being the murderer and Kennedy was the ghost. A BIG thank you to Ali and Wade for taking Paisley for the night too. She got a cute baby and a stuffed dog that she just loves. Most of the pics were takin in the dark but you can't tell so we don't have a lot of posed pics. We didn't even sing her Happy Birthday because we were running out of time. Lots of laughs!

Easter 2010

It was worse than Christmas....really. Kennedy woke up and came in at 1:30 in the morning after having to walk upstairs passing lots of eggs in the process. I told her that she had to go back to sleep until the morning to find the eggs and after watching a couple of cartoons and her breathing with one nostril plugged, I really thought I might lose it at 3:00 in the morning. What in the heck did she think the Easter Bunny was going to bring her that was so important? I told her to go back to her own bed and off to sleep for mom. Just a few short hours later, Kennedy reappears with Berklee both begging to go down like Christmas morning. Cole and I dragged ourselves out of bed with our best happy faces, and that coffee couldn't get poured into our cups fast enough that morning. The girls had lots of fun finding eggs and their baskets. The Easter bunny left these clues and the baskets ended up being in the dishwasher. We went to Grandma and Grandpa Roberts house for dinner that afternoon and it was good to see "the old grandma". Cole's Grandma came for dinner too and my kids had not seen her for a while and she finally got to meet Paisley. They had their annual Easter egg hunt for the kids and got lots of money! Thanks to you guys, your the best and I appreciate the traditions, our children will always remember these times. We ended our break with our friends from California coming to town and we had lunch and then went and played Laser tag and ended the day with a B-B-Q...in the snow! Who would have thought... spring break Utah Style?

Spring Break or was it Winter?

Give a shout out!!! It was spring break for everyone at this house. We were waiting to see if the weather would cooperate to really decide if we were leaving SLC and the whole state looked pretty gray. So we thought that we would get a hotel room downtown since that was my kids favorite part of our Disneyland trip was putting the "key" in the door. Then we remembered it was conference weekend so that was out too! So we decided to have a stay-cation all in the comfort of our own beds. Thurs. we went to see "How to train your dragon" with Robin and Hunter. What a good time that was....with a almost 2 year old in tow!! HORRIBLE! I swore I wouldn't go back until she was four. She spilled my brand new, full, Ice cold Diet coke all over the floor and I swear I could hear it pouring down the stadium seating. Then continued to flail herself on the ground trying to get to the other kids. We decided to start over on Friday and Cole took the day off and we went to Gateway, for shopping, lunch, and the Children's Museum. We had so much fun spending Dad's money on fun and clothes. That night was Taylir's 18th Birthday party at Justin's house and that good too. I can't believe she is 18 already. Saturday morning was up early for the kids to do an Easter Egg Hunt at the park and they got some cool stuff. Can't believe it gets over so fast we were driving back in our neighborhood 11 minutes after it all started. Later that day we dyed Easter Eggs with Hunter and I got a Pilate's machine from my sweetest husband so we spend the rest of the day playing with it.

Brand new bedrooms

I am sooo ashamed of myself because I was really trying to blog once a week and now it's been a a month or so. I have only been working on these new bedrooms or in the salon if you needed to find me. If anyone needs to guess what I have been doing for a month it has been redecorating! I know that the rooms are getting smaller because all the paint on the walls is getting thicker but who cares? The girls each have their own room and they both look adorable! Lots and lots of taping and crafting to make it all possible but it has been well worth it. Kennedy has a surfer girl kind of flair and Berklee's is girly, over the top fabulous! After a couple of months of hard work for the girls room and a little tip we just learned, the stripes turned out to be absolutely awesome! The diamonds on the walls was a pain in the butt and if I see one pencil mark.... i might just have to enter the looney bin! My eyes were crazy! I made the rose petal lampshade, ADORABLE!!! Hope you like looking at it because it is not changing for YEARS!!!

Calling nurse Julie

Monday night at 10:00 p.m. I got a call From Dad asking us to stay over because my step mom was having skin cancer spots taken off her nose at Huntsman, so I graciously said no problem and ran around like a freak trying to put my house back together after a 10 hour work day. Couldn't vacuum or change sheets since everyone else was sleeping so I finally hit the sack myself. I had decided that maybe from time to time it's OK for guests to come stay, you realize that you have no sheets that haven't been scribbled on with a marker from an 18 month old. How embarrassing! Along with the house that really is not so clean. I strut along to work from 9-6 and my family is meeting me here to go to a viewing. Our dear family friend Melanie lost her husband to cancer (CANCER SUCKS) and your in our thoughts and prayers Mel. So I leave my wonderful husband to tend and care for the kids and the parents! The next two days were taking care of LaDawn and of course clients, kids, husband, and a dog. All in about that order, I have been soo busy! If anyone could see what they had to do to her it would make anyone stay out of the sun! To top off the week Paisley got the Flu on Sat. and was throwing up every 15 min. for the last 8 hours. Arrrrrrg......I hate the pukes!

Broom Stick Disaster

We woke up this morning and the week was pretty much going as usual, I actually thought I might not have much to blog about this week. Boy, was I wrong? Not 5 minutes after I told Cole that I thought that we needed to make a goal for things that needed to be finished by the end of the day, we were not going to sleep until the list was complete. Paisley, the little helper that she is thought she would sweep up Kennedy's new room. All I saw from the mirror was her turning around, broomstick in the mouth hitting the exercise bike and she fell. Screaming didn't come far behind...I grabbed her and headed to the bathroom and noticed she sliced her lip up so as I was holding her applying pressure about 3 min. later up came the pukes, and it was pure BLOOD! Not my proudest moment I started to freak and shouting for Cole. He didn't really like it either, he told me later that it was a little different seeing it coming from your baby girl and not one of the guys from work. We called the pediatrician and they told us to head to primary's. She didn't really love it there with them probing inside of her mouth every 10 min., she hated the name tag on but thought a while later that two binkies just might make her feel better. Two and a half hours later we got to come home and we just get to let it heal, Tylenol and Motrin should help with the pain. What about codeine or something? If not for Paisley, what about for me and Cole that have to listen to her cry about it! The punching bag thing in the back of the throat (we are not using the real name for it because I think it sounds like something else) was pretty cut up and the roof of her mouth looks a little like hamburger, so here is hoping for some sleep tonight!

As if I don't do enough hair...

Last Sunday the girls wanted their dolls to get their hair done so I said sure, I just didn't know that they had planned with their dolls that I would be doing the hair. They both wanted curly do's so I sat down and wrapped them up in perm rollers. They sat all day in the sun and when we took it out, it barely worked! Stupid doll hair anyway! Definitely the hair and not the operator, right?
